Minister

Shane Hines

Shane came to the Highland Hills church as its full-time minister August 21, 2005. He grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, and attended the Campus Church of Christ (now the Heritage Place church) on the campus of Jefferson Christian Academy. He spent his high school years in Evansville, Indiana and then attended the University of Missouri in Columbia where he earned a BA in fine arts in 1994. He is married to Vicki, who he says is "the most beautiful, patient, and elegantly down-to-earth woman I have ever known or heard of." They were married in Columbia, Missouri, May 21, 1994, and have four children: Hayden, LeeLee, Hyatt, and Hillary. Shane and his family have been in full time ministry since 2000. He served first as the youth minister and then the pulpit minister at the O'Fallon Church of Christ in O'Fallon, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. During this time, he earned a BS in Ministry and Theology from St. Louis Christian College.

A message from Shane:

I know God has called me to preach the wonderful truth of His Gospel to those who believe, as well as to any who will listen and have not yet heard the good news and believed in Jesus. I know this is a calling placed on my life and the life of our family. By God's grace and mercy he continually supplies us with the strength, support, and the words to say on a daily basis. Our God is faithful and generous through the work of His Holy Spirit to supply all that is needed for this blessed journey.

I am excited to be part of the ministry effort at the Highland Hills Church. I want to encourage people to continually grow in their relationship with God through Jesus Christ. My desire is to help every member of this congregation fulfill the unique purpose of their life in Christ for which they were saved. (Ephesians 2:1-10) I will continually urge believers to whole-heartedly seek God and enlarge their vision and understanding of Him through study and prayer. As passionate Christ-followers, our lives will be defined by His grace, and God will be glorified as His power transforms us into the likeness of Christ. I believe God has great plans for this congregation, and He will continue to bless the community of Tullahoma through this ministry now and in the years to come.
